Lula does Western Mass

Today I traveled up to Holyoke, MA to peddle my wares at the first annual Kitschy and Crafty Craft Fair and Flea Market, hosted by some rad ladies who call themselves The Good, the Bad, and the Crafty. It was a punk/rockabilly/horror type of event, attended by tattooed, mohawked, and generally hip crafty people. There was lots of great stuff there. Jewelry, knit stuff, records, headbands that make you have a huge cupcake on your head.

But where were all the shoppers?

Eatin' burgers and drinkin' beer?

Who knows. It was a quiet day. The afternoon was broken up by a catastrophic burst pipe, right over somebody's booth- I think it was one of the organizers- and a panicked rush to get stuff out of the way, and trash barrels under the gallons and gallons of water that gushed from the ceiling. I saw the whole thing happen, and it was amazing (although very unfortunate for those who happen to be under it at the time).

Well, as always, I met lots of great folks that I hope to see again. I also scored a deck of Elvis playing cards for a mere dollar, which was definitely the deal of the day!
